    Most Common Reason:
Using the wrong USB cable type. A USB Charge and Sync cable is required. A USB Charge Only cable will not work. A standard USB charge only cable cannot transfer all the data needed between the controller and the KeyMander. Although you can use the keyboard in the game menu, it will not work in game mode using a charge only cable.

    Second Most Common Reason
You may be in Keyboard mode instead of controller mode. Press F9 to toggle between modes. If you are in keyboard mode, the amber light will flash on the KeyMander.

    Flimsy Cable
Check to see that your USB cable is not worn. If the cable is tattered or seems to be falling apart, try a new charge and sync cable.

Verify You Are Using a Charge and Sync Cable
    Xbox One
Turn on the Xbox, Xbox controller, KeyMander, keyboard and mouse. Next, shut off the Xbox Controller. Disconnect the USB cable from the KeyMander to the controller. Reconnect the USB cable. If the cable is a charge and sync cable, the Xbox controller should light up and stay on. If the cable is a charge only cable, the controller will buzz for a second and stay powered off.

    PS4
Turn on the PS4, PS4 controller, keymander, keyboard and mouse. Next, disconnect the USB cable from the KeyMander from the controller and wait a few seconds. Reconnect the USB cable. If the cable is a USB charge and sync cable, the PS4 controller should turn on and display a yellow light. If it is a charge only cable, it will show a blue light which means it is still in wireless mode and does not recognize the cable.

    Additional Method
If you are using a phone with a micro USB port, connect your phone to your PC. If you can transfer files between your phone and PC, you have a charge and sync cable.

If you are still having trouble after you verified that the USB cable is a Charge and Sync Cable and you are not in keyboard mode, please contact us via email or phone for further assistance.

If the mouse and keyboard share the same Bluetooth USB dongle, will this work or no?

Yes it should work, connect the USB dongle to the Keyboard port of the keymander.

I cant get my Keymander to work. When I get everything plugged in and set up, all the F keys can control the keymander just fine, but nothing on screen or in game happens when I try to control the xbox/pc with it. After reading this thread as well as another I did the sync cable test with the XboxOne gamepad (with multiple different cables).

When I plug my xbox one gamepad directly into the xbox with the sync cable it turns on and stays on.
When I plug the xbox one gamepad directly into my PC is turns on and stays on.
When I plug it into the Keymander it only vibrates.

Because it is failing the sync cord controller test, I am assuming it is the keymander that is the problem. But I am not sure because I just got this thing 2 days ago and been trouble shooting ever since.

Here is a video of what I mean. In game it doesn't work. Plugged into Xbox or PC it doesn't work in game. Nothing really to show video wise for that I assume, just imagine a Arthur Morgan from RedDead2 not moving lol.

(ignore the mess, the mess is 90% me trying to figure out the keymander lol)

Okay thank you for the video! At about minute 1:40 I noticed that it looks like you have a cable in the POWER and the PC port correct? If that is the case that is most likely the issue, in this situation the power would not be needed you would connect the PC to your computer and the GAME to to the console.

    Hi Chuck,

The first problem is that you do not have the KeyMander connected correctly. If you look at the circled area in the screen capture below you can see the controller is not connected to the KeyMander as required. Please connect the controller to the KeyMander and let us know if you have any issues.

I did connect it, I showed in the video 1:30 I plugged it in to do the sync test. I was showing the Xbox does pass the sync test when plugged directly into PC, but not when connected into Keymander

I was using keymander on PC (no console) for the video just to show the sync test. I should do another for XboxOne just so we can see that as well. My controller syncs when plugged directly into console/PC, but not when plugged directly to keymander. I will try removing the power when I return home. I am out at work right now. THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR QUICK RESPONSE. Happy thanks giving if we dont speak today. But I will be back 8-9pm EST. I want to figure this out.

LoL, watch with sound. If you watch on mute it does seem that I forgot to plug it in. LoL. I did in fact have the controller plugged in 1:30 though.

Without a console the controller will not sync, so we need to do the same test with the console connected and again make sure the GAME port is connected to the Xbox. Update us when you can!

OK so I just got home from work. I did a lot of forum reading today, and decided to do another test and record it so I could get some more feedback.

IT WORKS!!!! (long story short, you must plug keymander into back of XboxOne)

Trust me, EVERYTHING was hooked up perfectly prior to it working. I hooked this thing up like 15 times trying to get it working with many different cables and cords lol. Even bought a new cheap keyboard to make sure it wasn't compatibility. Turns out the issue was the Xbox. Plugging the keymander into the side of the Xbox instead of the back of the Xbox is a nono.

So now (in the video) I hooked keymander into the back of the Xbox. That's literally the ONLY thing I did differently from previous attempts to the Xbox and it works. IT REALLY WORKS!

I'm posting this 2nd video because I got it working for the first time while recording lol. So it's a nice "ah ha!" moment.

You guys are awesome. I really wasn't expecting a response until Friday. Thanks for being so fast. Happy Thanksgiving! Im excited, I get to spend the day off playing games with my Keymander now. :)

Glad to hear you are up and running! The orginal Xbox's side USB port had a lot of problems passing data so we do recommend connecting to the back. Let us know if you have any other questions.

I just got my KEYMANDER today. I'm hooking it up in the back have all the right plugs in the right place and my sync cable works when plugged into my Xbox. But when I plug it into KEYMANDER my keyboard shuts on and off my KEYMANDER constantly disconnects and reconnects and my controller just buzzes
