I've tried countless times to configure my mouse settings to where I can use the red button on the side to fire, but I'm unsuccessful every time. Is there some special button on the keyboard that I have to press to be able to do this? and if so, what buttons? Thank You.

    Hi Tacoman,

What mouse are you using? The mouse side buttons are typically called forward and back, but depending on the mouse it may have a different default function in which case the KeyMander software would see it as a different button. Just need to see what button it is (M1, M2, etc.), and choose the appropriate button in the KeyMander software.

Here's an alternate method: if your mouse has on-board memory you can use the software that came with your mouse to program the button you want as an unused keyboard function such as the "P" key. Once you map the mouse button to output P when pressed, you can map the function you want to keyboard P in the KeyMander software. Now when you press that mouse button the function you want will activate.

With RETIKAL mouse this should be a simple setup, this mouse does have on board memory so you would just need to open up the software for the mouse and program the "Exact Control" button to "Left Click Mouse" or to whatever key you have fire mapped on your Keymander.

If you need help setting this up you can give our support team a call at 866-946-4327 x4862 , we are open Monday through Friday 7:30 am to 6:00 pm PST

Unfortunately, I don't have a home computer at the moment, so I'm stuck configuring my hardware at school. The thing about doing that though is that the only software that I'm able to use are the ones that require no installation. In other words, I can only use the software that lets you configure the mouse sensitivity and such. Is there any other way that I can configure the fire button on the side? I really want to be able to use it because it has a better feel to it when firing it (I know this because my friend also has a KeyMander gaming kit and he let me use it.

    P.S.
What is the side button mapped as? (i.e. M1, M2, M3...?)

I don't believe programming the buttons on the mouse is possible without the software but I will verify that for you.

Which side buton? The sniper button (Exact Control) and the button on the far right will not appear in the Keymander software that is why we need to adjust it through the mouse's software.

The other two buttons on the left side would be Mouse: Forward and Mouse: Back

Will there be any update to support "sniper buttons" on mice. I have the m65 pro the from corsair and it does not store key remaps on the mouse. I have been having intermittent input lag issues when running the mouse through my pc using play mode in order to let the corsair mouse software handle the button remapping.

The problem with the sniper buttons is that they do not actually output anything in sniper mode. Pressing the sniper button changes the resolution of the mouse, but doesn't actually give any output from the mouse that we could assign as a function. It is the same as pressing the default DPI buttons on most mice, and unless you reassign the function of the button using the mouse's programming software and then save that configuration in the mouse, there is no output from the mouse we can reassign.

In the case of the M65, it's lack of on-board memory makes reassigning the sniper button a huge problem since the only way to do it requires running the Corsair configuration software in the background on a PC while using the KeyMander in Play Mode as you are currently doing. This obviously adds an unpredictable amount of lag as you stated, due to the Corsair software running in between the mouse and KeyMander. It is a shame that Corsair does not put on-board memory into a mouse of this level, as it is otherwise a really nice mouse.

Yes, you can program them as Forward and Back buttons in the KeyMander software, or you can download the user software for the GME660 RETIKAL mouse and program other options.

I try the alternate method, set on mouse on-board memory to keyboard function. It won't work. I try it on Logitech G502 and G402, both also not work.
I try it with mouse plug into keymander mouse port, not thru software simulation

The logitech software unfortunately has a limited amount of options for the on board memory to work. To get the full potential of your G502/G402 you will need to leave it connected to a PC and use simulation or play mode.
