    Hello,

I use my Keymander for Fortnite BR on the XB1 console. In Fortnite PC you have the option to press one single button to navigate to a specific weapon/building slot. In other words, pressing 1 will navigate to the first weapon slot, etc. For convenience purposes, I am trying to achieve this.

I fully understand that there is no way to directly map a key to a specific weapon/building slot using the Keymander software due to the fact that Fortnite BR on the XB1 uses a cycle system to switch between specific weapon/building slots.

To combat this I decided to make a macro that will open the build menu and scroll to the desired building structure with a single keypress. I'm not exactly sure what I am doing wrong here and I need some help. Attached, you will find the profile that I am currently using to play Fortnite BR on the XB1 console.

B.T.W. I am putting my Keymander into macro mode with the F11 and I am aware of the beeping sequence that indicates whether the Keymander is in macro mode or not, but my beep sound isn't working even though I have the beep sound enabled in settings.

    Thanks for the help,
    Evan

    EDIT: Typo.

EDIT 2: I think that it is worth mentioning that I have macros set up to basically serve a secondary keybind (X is reload and interact on the controller. I find using F to reload to be uncomfortable, so I have a bind that makes R execute the same action as F).

    Hi Evan,
We are out of the office all week at the Consumer Electronics Show, but we will test your profile when we return.

I am having the same issue. Is there a way to get around this problem with the keymander?

We have not been able to find a proper way of by passing this problem. Since Fortnite uses a cycle system, even if we use a Macro to press (toggle to building)+(cylce right) which would give you your second building option. This will work the first time you use it but if you want to use the Macro again it will start at the second building option and then jump to the third. So Macros will basically be unpredictable and make cycling a little more difficult.

We are still trying to find a way to properly do this but at the moment it cannot be done.

well not if you have the setting in fortnite on thats called returnauto material change

If I am not mistaken this setting will only cycle through your material automatically if you have less then 10 of a material.
I will go ahead and take a look at the setting to see if anything else was changed with it.

Fortnite released a new setting in the newest update that allows for you to default to the first building slot when pushing B which allows for proper mapping using macros.

this is the reason why i want to get a keymander because i really hate the building on console. I want to bind the button on the side of my mouse to open up the stairs and the other button to open up walls but since this isnt possible yet i think im going to hold off on getting the keymander until this is possible.

I was able to try out some Macros after this new feature was added and now we can set a Macro per building piece. The only down side is that you must be selected on your weapons to go directly to a build, if you are already building the Macros must be pressed twice to exit building and then go back directly to the piece needed. This is caused because of the mechanics of the game. Below are how the Macros should be set, you can add them to any key or button on the mouse that you would like.

NOTE: First make sure you go into Fortnite's settings and you turn on "Reset Building Choice"

Get into the Keymander software then select your profile and go to Macro settings

Wall: For this you do not need a Macro, you can just set "B" (xbox) or "Circle" (PS4) to whatever key/button that you would like using the normal button mapping page. Since it will always reset to the first build we do not need the Macro.

Platform: For this you will make a Macro that has the command B>RB (Xbox) or Circle>R1 (PS4). Then pick what key you want it binded to.

Stairs: Command will be B>RB>RB (Xbox) or Circle>R1>R1 (PS4)

Roof: Command will be B>RB>RB>RB (Xbox) or Circle>R1>R1>R1 (PS4)

Once these are set, save and upload. Next make sure you press F11 to turn on Macros.

If anyone finds a better way of mapping these Macros please post it !

With the issue of fortnite’s cycle builing on console it creates an issue as stated, ”The only down side is that you must be selected on your weapons to go directly to a build, if you are already building the Macros must be pressed twice to exit building and then go back directly to the piece needed.

To resolve this could a macro include the option to switch to the pickaxe so the player could switch from building option without having to press keys twice.

    EX: stair (xbox) Y>B>RB>RB
    : roof (xbox) Y>B>RB>RB>RB

I was wondering if this would allow players to switch from say a wall to a stair with only having to click the wall key once and the stair key once.

Lastly If this solution was to work I wondered if it would create a delay because the player takes out the pickaxe then starts to build the structure

    Hi Trey,
Those are good ideas, but you will have to experiment with the macro timing to try to get it right. The timing controls the amount of time between the button presses, and since Fornite is a bit picky with timing, I can't say for certain if it will work, but give it a try. The timing between presses is adjustable by clicking on the number circled below and add time in milliseconds.

I have been using these macros with the newest firmware without issue. I have extended the spacing between the button presses to 150ms as seen below, and they seem to be working fine on XB1.

Try these and see if you still have the same problems.

I found out the problem i decided to make a new profile and not use the provided fortnite one and it works fine i just copied what the fortnite profile has into a new fresh profile and it works like a charm now thank you guys for the help. One more question how would i bind my weapons to my numbers. Would i do for example for 1 RB, 2 RB>RB? I want like on pc how if i press 1 it goes to slot one wherever slot im on. Because i binded the 5 numbers all RB but that didnt work Is it possible to do this?

Ah, your profile was corrupted. It can happen if you unplug KeyMander while it is being written to the memory (in Simulation Mode, etc.).

I haven't tested a macro for binding weapons. I'll look into it.

    Hey derek!
Have you figured out a way to bind weapon slots? I also have a question about the mouse because on YouTube I see some videos and when you move your mouse side to side it will not move your character in game. Is that true?
