Here are some tips to help remove the jittery/choppy mouse movements in your gameplay.

    • In the KeyMander software, click the settings icon (gear in upper right). Set the mouse DPI settings to the maximum that your mouse is rated at.
    • Set your mouse to the highest DPI setting. This will give the maximum resolution for your mouse.
    • In your game menu, set the look sensitivity to maximum.
    • Adjust the deadzone. Make the deadzone as small as possible until your character is looking around without you touching the mouse. If the deadzone is set to large, your movement will be jittery with smaller movements.
    • Adjust the mouse sensitivity to what you like in the KeyMander software.

I have done all the recommended steps For playing Rainbow 6 Siege on the Xbox One S and am still having some jitter problems.

I set my in game sensitivity to max, and have the in game dead zone at minimum. In the Keymander desktop app I am using the R6 Siege profile downloaded from your website and have got the dead zone circles as small as possible without movement. Mouse is logitech m510, also used a cheaper wired mouse. Each has 1000 dpi and the dpi is set accordingly on the settings page. There is still "pixel jumping" when I move my crosshairs. Any further advice?

Does the pixel jumping seem to happen at all times or only when making small movements ?

Can you send me a screenshot of your current settings. Or just list the sensitivity settings that your currently have.

I'll screen you my settings later after I set up my new mouse. I restored all to default in preparation last night.

I'm going to try using a lower dpi in my mouse software settings and see if that helps. I was playing with it on max (6400 dpi) and could not find a good balance between sensitivity/smoothness to mitigate the jumping. It was either have a sensitivity speed I wanted, or have the smoothness.

It was during fine aiming that it was most noticible (most frustrating trying to hold a peek angle in rainbow 6) but occurred during all movements in all games. I think setting my dpi lower in the mouse settings and leaving it at max in the Keymander software will help.

On an unrelated issue I'm using my mouse with the lights WERE on, keyboard with no lights, and an Xbox One S controller with a headset plugged in that draws power from the controller (no batteries inside). Seems the power demand will cause my microphone to not pick up audio at times. I have alleviated this by using a second controller that is usb connected to the Xbox, with my headset plugged into it. I think the lack of power before this fix contributed to the permanent malfunction of my mouse. By using my current configuration I am confident my new mouse will be safe, and the old mouse was under warranty so no worries. I am saying this as it's a POSSIBLE and UNCONFORMED potention threat to other users mice that may be worth looking into, because I think that the Keymander device was not sensing enough of a power loss to power down, but still enough to cause damage to the mouse. Again the malfunction is not confirmed to be an issue with the Keymander and this is only a heads up! I love the device and thank you for your replies!

Ok, I can see the issue now. First, the m510 is an older wireless mouse, so there is a little bit more signal delay than newer wireless mice which makes a difference. Second, it has a non-gaming sensor and is reported to have problems losing tracking while gaming, so while it may be acceptable for running and gunning, it will have problems with precision aiming. Diagonal movement may feel very stair-steppy, and the problem will become worse when turning up the sensitivity to counter the lower 1000 dpi sensitivity.

The wired mouse you have may respond a tiny bit faster, but it will likely suffer from the same problems with accuracy due to the sensor and low maximum resolution.

I'd honestly recommend a better mouse as I don't think you will achieve the results you want with either of the two non-gaming mice mentioned. Although the sky's the limit when it comes to gaming mice prices, you don't need to spend a much on a gaming mouse to get quality performance- you just need a quality gaming level sensor in it. Look around for a gaming mouse using the Avago 3050 sensor as that has been the go-to gaming sensor in budget mice for a long time. You should be able to find one for under $20 that will definitely improve your experience with KeyMander. I of course recommend our Kaliber Gaming mice, and our SYMMETRE can be found here for under $20.

I'm sorry for the confusion. I purchased a Rival 300 (Pixart 3310 sensor) and this is the mouse I am referring to above. It's being returned due to malfunction and exchanged for the Corsair m65 pro (Pixart 3360).

    Update:
The new mouse combined with using the max dpi for it solved my issue in Rainbow 6

My issue is the setup videos are great.. but having no knowledge of the different precise settings makes it almost impossible to follow along. I need a fine tuning the mouse FOR DUMMIES!!

I am extremely satisfied with this product and I can't stress that enough. I would advertise this product if possible (shirts, stickers etc...)

I know I can be even happier with this product ig the fine tuning was explained to where a 10 year old could understand...lol. I am considered Pre-K when it comes to fine tune mouse settings.

I just am afraid if I go to tinkering with these settings, im gonna mess something up and have to start all over setting it all back up. Guess I could create a duplicate profile and go that route but I still don't understand what I am doing.

Good point. Yes, we definitely could use a "tweaking" video to bridge the gap between new users and advanced users. We've previously focused on how to configure individual settings in our help topics, so until we can get a video made I think we can at least put together a starter guide that helps wrap it all up for basic profile building.

Can you explain what you mean by spasm, is it jittery movements? Or random movements? What kind of mouse are you using and what is its resolution?

I have jittery choppy mouse movements with small movements but my mouse is only a 2000 dpi so I'm getting a 16000 dpi steel series mouse will this resolve the issue?
  • Moderator [Marco]
    74

A 2000 DPI mouse should work ok with most game titles, but some will require something higher to operate better.

A 16000 DPI mouse should be more then enough and you should feel a major difference between the two mice.

R6S's mechanics do require something at least with a 5000 DPI sensor to get good movement. That mouse should get the job done.

    Hello!
I have a SteelSeries Sensei RAW Laser gaming mouse and I have been having quite a bit of issues with jittery/strange movement.

The maximum CPI of my mouse and that I have set the settings to is 5670 so I did not think this would be an issue. I have adjusted in-game sensitivity and deadzone to the place every post says, but I have still noticed a good amount of jittery movement. Not only that, but I can not look DIAGONAL. The response to horizontal and vertical movement is not horrible, but it is almost nonexistent when I try to move the mouse in a horizontal direction. I have mainly been trying to get this set up for Rainbow Six Seige, but I am continuing to test on other games as well.

What do you have the keymander DPI set to?
Also which profile are you using? One of yours or one of our sample profiles?

I have an 8200 dpi mouse and get jittery movement when trying to make small movements but don’t know how to fix it because I don’t have an android or pc to fix it so what should I do...

If you cannot import a profile I would highly suggest adjusting the deadzone via the controller. Follow this link and download the PDF that says that is for setup without a PC.
