Ever since I got my keymander around every 2 minutes it decides to freeze and continuously hold down the last button i was clicking. When this happens no buttons can be clicked and absolutely nothing can be done. To fix this I have to unplug and plug it back in but it just happens again in a few minutes. I’ve tried extra power and a bunch of other things please help me fix this.

Try updating the firmware, this will give the Keymander a small reset in case it is something caused by the firmware. Link for firmware is below.

Are you able to open the KeyMander software? If so, do you see a screen that looks like this?

If so, does it change to this when KeyMander is connected:

If you can open the software but KeyMander does not connect, you will need to follow these steps for firmware recovery. Once completed you should be back to working condition.

When I open the software it has the green spinning circle searching for a keymander. When I try to follow the firmware recovery it won’t turn back on even after following the steps. Once unplugging the keymander after following recovery it does not use the power it getting supplied with and doesn’t turn on.

Do you have both micro USB cables connected to the KeyMander?

    Let's start with this:
    1. Disconnect the KeyMander from everything and make sure the KeyMander software is closed.
    2. Connect both USB cables to the computer but do not connect the mini USB end yet.
    3. Take a paperclip or similar thin pointed object and use it to press and hold the reset button on the KeyMander. Don't let go of the reset button!

    4. While holding the reset button, connect a micro-USB cable to the KeyMander's Power port
    5. While still holding the reset button, connect the other micro-USB cable to the KeyMander's PC port.
    6. After the PC port is connected, wait 5 seconds and release the reset button.
    7. Browse to the location in your computer where you have stored the current KeyMander firmware upgrade file (KeyMander_FW*.exe).

Double click to open the Firmware Upgrade Utility and run it WITHOUT using the KeyMander software.

    8. Follow the on-screen prompts until it is complete.
    9. Disconnect the KeyMander's PC and Power ports and wait 10-15 seconds.
    10. Reconnect the KeyMander's PC and Power ports.
    11. Open the KeyMander software and if all is well the KeyMander will connect like normal.

Is it supposed to blink when restarting?

Which LED do you see blinking?

The power is blinking and only the power

Yes, if the firmware fails to fully install that is one of the possible indicators, but it will usually not connect to the KeyMander software in that condition, which is why we have to go through recovery. The firmware recovery will normally solve that problem, but may take a couple tries if you let go of the reset button prematurely.

When ever I complete the recovery I replug the power and pc ports and the keymander doesn’t turn back on. Am I using the right file (GE1337P_FW_V1.2.119.002)?

Yes, that is the right file. Did you use WinZip to unzip the file or did you use the built-in tool from Windows 7 or Windows 10?

We will help you get it working, or I will swap it for you!

I used winrar to unzip the file

That should have worked fine. We have had some people that had their firmware corrupted somehow, but at this time we don't know if it was caused by a Windows process or something during the download. I am starting to suspect your firmware file is corrupt and I'd like to email you a clean version to test. Please check your inbox here.

I used the file to start using my keymander I’m not sure if files can corrupt at a later time

If you unplug KeyMander without closing the software and ejecting the device from Window, it is possible to corrupt the software if data was being transmitted.

It sounds right now as if your PC is not recognizing the KeyMander, which is why the LED is still flashing. However, when you double click the firmware file it should look for the KeyMander connected to a USB port, find it, then allow the update. The LED will keep flashing the entire time. After the firmware update shows complete, the LED will still be flashing. Unplug both mini USB connections and then plug in only Power. The blue and orange LEDs should turn on constant. You should be able to plug in the PC port cable, then start the KeyMander software and have it connect.

This is similar to the problem I had, I believe it is due to the firmware being corrupted (Moderators correct me if im wrong).

    Steps I followed:

--I plugged up both the power and pc cables and left them connected, then pressed and held the reset button,

    --Windows detected the keymander,

--I used the previous version of the keymander software HERE.

--Ran the firmware recovery software, using the firmware from the link above, following the steps HERE

--Unplugged the keymander from both the power and pc after the firmware upgrade was complete

    --Waited 10 secs

--Plugged the keymander back up to the pc, power and xbox one,

-- Started the keymander software, the keymander was detected by windows and the keymander software

    -Clicked Ready

--Clicked help at the top right hand side of the keymander software

    --Clicked upgrade

--Upgraded to the current version of the keymander firmware located HERE

--The keymander has been working ever since.
