Where are you putting the actual profile file? I would recommend putting the profile somewhere you know like you Desktop, then form the Keymander Software right click on any profile and select import, then navigate to your desktop and open the file.

Are you talking about the KeyMander software download or the profile download? The profile is not compressed, so there is no extracting required.

My question is, can you modify your dpi and using it on keymander ? Becausa i wanna modify mi dpi mouse like pro player do in Pc version of overwatch. Can you do it on keymander ?

Yes, you can modify your dpi to change your mouse response, like pro PC players. However, the process is somewhat different, and since the game's aim\look mechanic differs greatly from PC to console the settings do not have the same effect.

In the PC version, players balance the mouse dpi setting and the game's sensitivity setting to smooth aiming response and minimize pixel skipping, while maintaining speed at which they can play accurately with their specific mouse technique. You'll find many pros playing between 400-800 dpi (especially on CS:GO) which is where the least amount of pixel smoothing and other sensor related problems were found in older mice. Newer mice with "flawless" sensors don't have these issues, but most pro players have used the same technique for years, so if they're a big arm movement player, they likely still play lower sensitivity settings.

KeyMander converts the X/Y movement of your mouse into the controller data read by the game. In order to accurately convert and scale movement input, KeyMander needs the mouse's maximum resolution (dpi) programmed into the KeyMander settings window. Now that the window is set we adjust the KeyMander's mouse movement sensitivity, in-game acceleration, and mouse curves to truly tailor the mouse feeling.

So i quiet don’t get it, keymander and other devices for mouse and keyboard compatibility don't have the exact same effect when you change the DPI? But keymander has this option witch is better or kinda exact like the dpi?

Let's back up a bit. Just like with a PC, your mouse will move less at 800 dpi, and more at 1600 dpi. Like in PC games, console games have a sensitivity setting that acts like a multiplier, increasing small physical movements into larger in-game movements. Up to this point PC gaming and console gaming work the same way. Where they start to differ is the maximum speed at which the mouse can move.

In most PC games you can pretty much swipe the mouse as fast as you want, and the game's aim/look mechanic will turn your aim/look view the appropriate amount. However, since console games are made for thumb stick controllers that can only move about half an inch in any direction, the games are configured to allow holding the stick in a given direction to turn your screen view at a maximum set rate so you don't get out of control screen movement. Some people become very good with thumb sticks, so games have the ability to increase the sensitivity for faster turning, but there is always a maximum turning speed limit. If not, simply pinning the thumb stick to side would cause uncontrollable movement as the turn speed would theoretically continue increasing until hitting the console's maximum rendering speed. The turning speed limit is set by the game developer, so it can vary widely from game to game.

This is important to understand, because the turning speed limit is what causes the mouse dpi setting in PC gaming to be different from console gaming with KeyMander. Since console games have a turning speed limit, we need to increase this limit as high as possible to get the best performance from the mouse, which is why the first instruction for creating a game profile is always to turn the game's sensitivity setting to max. Because we are also converting the mouse's analog data into X/Y movement which emulates the controller output and because the game's maximum turn speed creates a window we must work within, we need that mouse data to be as accurate as possible. That means we have to configure the mouse dpi differently than we would for PC. In a PC game you might turn the mouse dpi down to keep the mouse in a desired resolution range you're used to playing, and turn the game sensitivity up to compensate for the low movement speed. With KeyMander it's almost the opposite of that, as we turn the mouse dpi to maximum or the highest resolution for maximum accuracy, and control movement speed with the sensitivity adjustment in the KeyMander software. For this reason we recommend using a mouse with at least 2000 dpi resolution or higher for basic gameplay, with higher resolution mice delivering higher levels of accuracy at peak movement speeds.

i understand now thanks for the reply, but what about the overwatch profile for xbox one. I only found one for xbox and is pretty much outdated and not even for some characters in category, what am trying to explain is that the only profile that there’s on the forum for overwatch xbox one, doesn’t has a different sensitivity and differents configurations for characters in game like, Widowmaker, Zarya, Ana, Tracer, Roadhog, Winston, and the profile only says to put 0 in “Aim Smoothing” And “Aim Assist” and “Exponential Ramp” But overwatch came with new sens on game like “Aim Assist Window Size” And “Aim Ease In” Even they apply in the game on these last updates with a new Aim Technique That Is Called “ Linear Ramp” So would you guys update the overwatch profile for xbox that you guys have on the forum, Explain how much to put the Aim Assist Window Size and Aim Ease In and either choose Exponential Ramp or Linear Ramp For Aim Techinique, and Characters in game that needs differents sensitivity’s like “Widowmaker” “Zarya” “Winston” “Roadhog” “Ana” Some Of thoose Characters has more Aim Sensitivity’s Like “Aim While Scooping” or “Nano Boost Sensivitie” and More, So a. New profile with every hero configuration or something like that would be perfect and helpfull For me and others that wants to buy or alreay bought keymander for playing overwatch mainly, Thanks For the Repply

For Some reason WASD isnt all movement? Currently A and D are Look left and right? How do I change the settings so that all movement is on WASD and all look controls are on the mouse?

Those settings should all be set by default on this profile, but open up the profile through the software and make sure that the buttons are mapped correctly as well.

Once downloaded you should be able to find the file in your downloads.

Now you need to open the software then go to FILE>IMPORT then in the browser window navigate to the Overwatch profile and select open.

We are currently having technical issues with the PS4 profile threads. We are working to get it back and running as soon as possible. Sorry for the inconvenience and thank you for your patience.

The mouse shouldn't be an issue.

The G213 does it have 2 USB connections or just one?

New to kb&m is A&D best to strafe or turn
  • Moderator [Marco]
    76

The "A" and "D" keys are very commonly used for strafe and turn. Some users will use the arrow keys instead but "A" and "D" work just as well. It really comes down to how you like to play.

Should aim assist be turned off when using keymander in regards to FPS games? If so may I ask why?
  • Moderator [Marco]
    76

Yes it should be off, Aim assist can counter act a mouse and make movements unnatural. So the less mechanics messing with mouse movement the better.

We have tried that. It is still not working. Are all three lights supposed to be lit? one orange and 2 blue? We up loaded the profile on the keymander then switch to play the XBOX 1 and they do not work. I feel we are missing a step. I am helping my son and I am fairly illiterate when it comes to gaming. Please advise.

Are you getting zero movement or the keybindings are not holding?

If you can't get any movement the problem may not be in the profile but how it is setup. First thing to check would be the cable from the controller to the keymander. To test the cable shutoff the controller then reconnect it to the keymander ( make sure xbox is on ). If the controller turns on and stays on then it is a good cable. If it buzzes and turns off then it is just a charging cable.

If you see all three lights on solid (two blue, one orange) you are connected to the PC and you have Turbo Mode turned on (F10). Two blue Leds is normal when PC is connected.

If the KeyMander is correctly connected as shown in our setup video here, and is not responding at all, go to the Xbox One home screen and see if you can navigate using the arrow keys. If so, then you may just have a problem with your micro USB controller cable connected between the KeyMander and the controller. If you have a recent production KeyMander you can use the cable with the micro USB pigtail as a test cable as described here. You will need to disconnect from the PC and make sure your mouse and keyboard are directly connected to the KeyMander during this test.

What is its Max DPI? Make sure it is set to its Max and then match that in the Keymander software as well.
