If something happens during a firmware update and the process is interrupted before completion (computer shuts down, cables are disconnected, etc.), the KeyMander's firmware will become corrupted and the KeyMander will not function correctly. To restore a KeyMander with corrupted firmware follow the steps below.

    1. Disconnect the KeyMander from everything.
    2. Connect both supplied mini-USB cables to USB ports on your PC.
    3. Make sure you have downloaded the most recent KeyMander firmware .zip file and have extracted it to the same location where your KeyMander software file is located.
NOTE: When the firmware update tool allows you to chose the firmware file for the update, Windows 10/7 users can "see" into .zip file without actually unzipping it first. If you select the firmware file without first unzipping the file it will cause a failed update and you will have to perform the firmware recovery described below. Always unzip the firmware file first before attempting to update!
    4. Take a paperclip or similar thin pointed object and use it to press and hold the reset button on the KeyMander. Don't let go of the reset button!

    5. While holding the reset button, connect a mini-USB cable from the PC to the KeyMander's Power port. (Yes, I know it's difficult to fumble around while holding the button)
    • The blue power LED should be flashing.
    6. While still holding the reset button, connect the other mini-USB cable from the PC to the KeyMander's PC port.
    7. After the PC port is connected to the PC, wait 5 seconds and release the reset button.
    8. Browse to the location in your computer where you have extracted the most recent KeyMander firmware file (KeyMander_FW*.exe).

    9. Double click the file to open the Firmware Upgrade Utility and run it WITHOUT using the KeyMander software.
    phmc8x8e8vi4xomk.png
    10. Follow the on-screen prompts until it is complete.
    • If you receive an error saying "No HID device attached to the USB port (code: 4183)" it means the KeyMander's PC port is not seen by your PC. Check your cable to make sure it is completely inserted into the KeyMander port and has a good connection, or switch to a different USB port on your PC.

    11. Disconnect the KeyMander's PC and Power ports and wait 10-15 seconds.
    12. Reconnect the KeyMander's PC and Power ports.
    13. Open the KeyMander software and if all is well the KeyMander will connect like normal.

Did you get an error message during the firmware recovery, or did it get to the end where you clicked "Finish"?

my keymander does not want to work, I did all the reset procedure but does not want to turn on. When I just bought it, I had to do this process and it worked correctly. but now that I want to do it again, no light turns on when I connect it again after I have done the Firnware thing

sorry for the English, I use google translate

So are you able to go through the whole firmware recovery process? Or does it not let you reload the software?

If you have no lights on your KeyMander, your firmware may have been corrupted. If you are running the most recent firmware v1.2.119, we have just found a bug we are now working to fix. If you press F11 and F12 together at just the right timing sequence, it is possible to completely shut down the KeyMander with a data corruption. This is a strange problem and the following instructions are the only confirmed way to fix it:

First, download the previous firmware version 1.2.117 here.
Next, follow steps 1-7 at the top of this page, but at step 8 you must use the firmware file for version 1.2.117 you downloaded above.
Finish steps 9-13 above to get KeyMander working again.
You will then need to update KeyMander back to the current firmware version. Click here and download the "GE1337P_FW_V1.2.119.002.zip" file, then use WinZip or 7-zip to unzip the file folder.
Next click the Help tab and select Firmware Upgrade:
    bzyr80hosed8f2bf.png
Browse to the location where you have extracted the GE1337P_FW_V1.2.119.002.exe file and click Open:
    xo06w9oy01n6nyz7.png
The KeyMander's blue power LED will begin flashing while the firmware is updating. Once complete you can reopen the KeyMander software and your KeyMander will be ready to use.

    hey guys,

so i was playing destiny 2 tonight everthing works fine, i had my mouse and keyboard through the computer and was running the playmode function flawless, had mic and headphones all going, life was sweet. then all of a sudden it just stoped working, the app reverted back to the main screen where u click on the controler to launch, but instead of launching it it came up with some USB user thing, i cant remember what it was exactly but i couldnt launch the app and mouse and keyboard stopped working. i reinstalled the firmware NOTHING, i did the firmware hard reset you guys listed on here, NOTHING, i followed every single instruction to the letter, i have reverted to 2.117 and then reinstalled back to 2.119, still nothing, i have tried plugging in the mouse and keyboard directly the the keymander.... NOTHING. i have tried different usb ports on my computer again NOTHING WORKS.

all lights and keyboard functions work accept the xbox 1 s for some odd reason wont pick up any input from the keyboard or mouse any more. yet all lights work turbo mode, play mode, profile selection.

this is the most disappointing outcome. i have even tried different cables, controllers! there seems literally nothing left to try. i have only used this half a dozen times, surely the unit has fried?
i also have the latest model i believe of keymander.... what else can i do?

I haven't ever seen a fried unit except for one that got wet. I'm sure we can resurrect it with you or at the very least replace it if you can't get the firmware restored. In the situation you described it shouldn't have needed a firmware restore, but most likely the micro USB cable between the KeyMander and controller or the USB cable between the KeyMander and the PC lost connection, either physically or electronically with the USB host controller. Normally this is as simple as checking to make sure the micro USB cable is fully inserted into the controller, or the mini-USB is inserted as far as possible into the KeyMander. If the PC does not recognize the KeyMander and open the software you need to switch to a different USB port on the computer and wait up to a minute for it to recognize the KeyMander. Keep in mind the KeyMander must be powered up via the Game port or Power port or the PC will not see it.

The situation you have now it sounds like the KeyMander does not see the controller. This is by far the most common problem, and 90% of the time it is cause by a poor micro USB cable. If you have already tried known good charge and sync micro USB cables, we need to try a little exercise. Remove the batteries from the controller and connect it to the KeyMander. See if it turns on and then see if it communicates with the Xbox. If it turns on but does not communicate, pair it to the Xbox again and see if that solves the problem.

    Hey Derek.

Can you confirm the connections needed for a PS4? one side of keymander: keyboard, mouse, contoller...other side of keymander: console port to PS4 and the power port to a power source? is this correct cabling to operate the device?
    thank you Derek.

    hey derek.

i replaced the cable between the controller and the unit i have also removed batteries and the cable allowed the controller to stay turned on (i also re synced the controller to the xbox unplugged and then plugged it back in through the xbox and through the keymander itself on separate attempts), i have also used another cable from the unit to the xbox 1 s. i tried different usb ports aka all of them on the xbox and still nothing. however one thing is interesting that u said when pluggin in the keymander to the pc with the power and PC port it should launch the APP but the app is just an .exe and so i would assume it wouldnt just launch but you say and reckon it should launch on its own so while i write this part i have done simply that and now i will wait......ok so i have tried different USB ports on the original cables and still nothing. the app does not launch on its own another question also, when connecting it to the keymander without batteries should it turn on on its own or should i see if i can turn it on. this is something i find unclear in the steps - ok so i have tried 3 different charge and sync cables and the controller buzzes but doesnt turn on unless i turn it on, and thats on all 3 cables. i have also tried this with the keymander connected to the pc with power and pc cables connected and then same thing to the xbox with the power connected to pc and game connected to xbox and just to make sure i have also tried powering it from the xbox also and still nothing

    Hi Chris,
You need mouse, keyboard, PS4 controller connected to bottom USB ports, and at minimum the PS4 connected to the mini USB Game port on top. The Power port is only needed if you have a keyboard that requires more power than the KeyMander can provide (keyboards with USB ports, sound cards, etc.).

however one thing is interesting that u said when pluggin in the keymander to the pc with the power and PC port it should launch the APP but the app is just an .exe and so i would assume it wouldnt just launch but you say and reckon it should launch on its own so while i write this part i have done simply that and now i will waitV3LSPYR3
Sorry, I should have been more specific. When you double click the .exe file the software will go to a loading screen and only go to the main programming screen when it sees the KeyMander connected to the USB port. If you do not see the main screen and just the loading screen, the PC does not see the KeyMander.

when connecting it to the keymander without batteries should it turn on on its own or should i see if i can turn it on.V3LSPYR3
No, you still have to manually press the Xbox button on the controller to turn on the controller and the Xbox.

No problem at all, I'm just trying to make sure we get you up and running correctly. So at this point you have the controller without batteries working with the Xbox One, correct? Is the KeyMander allowing full keyboard and mouse play yet?
  • V3LSPYR3

yeah xbox controler works without batteries threw the keymander but i still cant get mouse and keyboard to work. i think the port that goes from the keymander to the xbox is broken cause everything everywhere else works. i can try it all on another xbox if u would like?

I've received this item on January 10th, 2018 and I had problems with it in doing firmware upgrade. I followed the youtube and forum instructions to the period. Firmware still won't upgrade. Called in to tech support and the tech support guy directs me to here on the forum. Tells me to follow the instructions. Which I have done for the nth time. The software loads, but when you do the firmware upgrade in the software, the application disappears and nothing. The unit just blinks and blinks. I left it alone for 2 to 3 days straight and it still blinks. I reset the unit and tried to do the straight firmware. Gave me the error "No HID device attached to the USB port (code: 4183)". Tried all the other USB ports as directed in the forum. Still no go. This unit looks like DOA. If Tech Support cannot help me on this, I am returning this product as it is useless to me if I cannot do firmware upgrade on it.
