The current KeyMander version is compatible with headset audio, however there are some specific application notes for each console below:

Xbox One/Xbox One S: Headsets are supported by the current KeyMander model when connected directly to the controller’s 3.5mm jack.
Xbox 360: Headsets are supported when connected to an original Xbox 360 controller.
PS4 Pro/PS4: Headsets are not supported on the controller, however there are three different options to connect headset audio.
Option 1: Connect a USB headset directly to the PS4.
Option 2: Use a USB to 3.5mm headset adapter like this and connect your 3.5mm headset to it.
Option 3: If you have a second controller you can connect your 3.5mm headset to it, login as a Guest, and create or join Party Chat.
PS3: Headsets are not supported on the controller, however there is a workaround to allow a headset to pass chat and game audio. Please see Headset connection for PS3 with KeyMander.

NOTE: the original KeyMander does not support audio through the Xbox One controller connected to KeyMander. if you have a second controller you can connect your headset to it. If you are not sure which KeyMander version you have, please see the image below.

I don't know if I'm reading this right but I have the PX4 Turtle Beach and it connects with a USB and a 3.5 mm Jack for the microphone. So do I have to sign in as a guest to use it still?

    Edit: I'm on the PS4

    Hi Keegan,

Welcome to the forum! No, you can simply connect your USB adapter to the PS4 console’s USB port and plug your headset into the adapter. That’s it, and you’re ready to play!

I have xbox one and i can hear audio and party members can hear me but i cant hear them. I have a head set that has the 3.5 mm connection and that is going into the turtle beach adapter for the xbox controller. I currently have 2 controllers setup.
First one is plugged into xbox with usb connection and the head set is attached to that controller.
The second control is connected to Keymander with the usb connection.

My keyboard and mouse are working fine. Firm ware is all updated as well. Copilot is also wanting to be active because 2 controllers are on. I have tried it with it on and off, neither option works.

Please help i really want to be able to use a head set with my keymander and be able to fully communicate with the party. Thank you!!

    Head phones im using

    Audio Controller

Both controllers have been updated as well.

Do you have the Original KeyMander or the Revised KeyMander as seen at the top of the thread?

    Revised.

Its very weird about 10 minutes into playing it just started working. Could there be a load up time?

Its possible that the cable wasn't sending audio through the cable properly and then it made the correct connection. Maybe try changing the cable if it happens again.

I have a turtle beach 800x (i am on xbx 1) i wanted to ask before i buy your product if it will still work with the keymander. It is a wireless headset just so u know with a base that connects to the xbox via the usb port. Thanks and i hope you have a nice day
  • Moderator [Marco]

If the base connects directly to the Xbox then you should not have a problem!

You cannot use a headset connected to the PS4 controller while using the Keymander because the PS4 controller does not send audio via the cable. Please look at our first post above, it will show you how you can use headsets with PS4

Everytime I plug in my Keymander my Headphones go out.

I have the Corsair Void Pro Connected Via Usb and as soon as I plug in my keymander to Ps4. The audio goes out. As soon as I unplug the Keymander, the audio turns back on, Not sure what to do about that.

hello, my microphone has only one 3.5m plug, when i plug it in for my laptop it only needs to be plugged in to the headphone jack and it can pick up the mic signal. I was wondering if i get that adapter in option 2, will it work? I dont want to be forced in party chat using a second controller all the time.

You will need an adapter with a single jack or else it will not work, something like this.

I have a quick question. The ps4 only has two usb ports. Do i need both for the keymander for Game and PC? Or do i only need the game and it will have enough power there?
  • Moderator [Derek]

Usually you need only 1 port for KeyMander, unless you run a very power hungry keyboard like a Corsair K95, You can add a USB hub if you need more accessory ports on your PS4 for headset, etc. I normally recommend a powered hub in this case.

Hello, can you explain to me what the connection jack 3.5 that there is in the back part is for?, it has an inscription that is called "DATA", but in the manual of use there is no mention of this connection.
    Thank you.

This is for future updates, it will be used for iOS phones once our iOS app is available.

Perhaps it would be a better idea to support the headphones. A much better idea.
Think that in addition to the fact that the iPhone does not have a jack 3.5 input, it will probably require buying a cable, which will surely not be cheap. Not to mention that the vast majority of average users have an Android device.
But I am nobody to give them orders, although I can allow myself to make suggestions. Take this post as such.

If i have a wireless headset that connects to the Xbox itself, will I need to connect it to the keymander
  • Moderator [Marco]

No, if your headset communicates directly to the Xbox no other configuration is needed.

    Hello there.

I recently bought the Keymander due to the fact that I was lacking with skill using a controller, and thus far, I love it. The only thing I don't like is the inability to use my current headphones with it. I use a SOLOX F30 Amp with a set of ADATA EMIX H30 headphones, which are supposedly usable with the Xbox One, and I use the One S, and see no real difference in the two. But, that aside, how would I use these with the Keymander in place? My headset has three connections: A USB connection, for power, a microphone connection, and a headset connection.

I have used the headset connection alone, but I would like to know if it is possible to use the microphone as well, if not the Amp in addition.

    Many thanks,
    LT Snowy.

    Hello!
Try getting an audio adapter, it will have a female audio and mic connection and then a single 3.5 connection on the other side. We have used some of these adapters here in our offices testing headsets with Xbox One so I do not see why these would have a problem.

Im using adapter with a usb extension wire. But using adapter literally decreases the quality of headphones. When i direct plug the headset wire , not mic one , in the controller it feels like 100x times better sound than with an adapter. Any solution?

The best PS4 audio will come from a USB headset on PS4, as there's always some loss when using adapters unfortunately.
