Yes, the KeyMander supports most gamepads and joysticks as long as they have a standard set of F keys.

Yeah speaking of that, am I able to use the Keymander with the playstation navigation controller on xbox one as a keyboard.

Yes, the PS3 Navigation controller does work with KeyMander, but there are some special instructions you need to follow. The PS3 Nav controller will actually replace the Dual Shock4 controller connected to KeyMander, but only after you have signed in to the PS4 with the DS4.

To use the PS3 Navigation controller with KeyMander:
    1. Start with the Dual Shock4 (DS4) controller connected to the controller port on the KeyMander.
    2. Sign into the PS4 as you would normally.
    3. Unplug the DS4 controller from the KeyMander (don't sign out!).
    4. Connect the PS3 Nav controller to the KeyMander.

The keyboard will continue to function to switch profiles, and the Option and Share buttons but you will now use the PS3 Nav controller in place of the keyboard when gaming. You will likely need to reassign the controller buttons in the PS4 menu so that you can take better advantage of the PS3 Nav controller.

To remap the controller functions for the PS3 Nav controller:
    1. On the PS4, go to Settings > Accessibility > Button Assignment.
    2. Enable Button Assignment.
    3. Change the buttons as needed for your game.

As an example, for Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare with PS3 Nav controller we made the following changes in the PS4 Button Assignment menu:
Assign Circle to L1 function (crouch)
Assign X to R1 function (jump)
Assign L1 to Circle function (flash)
    Assign R1 to L2 function (aim-down-sight)
Assign L2 to X function (lethal)

We've made the following keyboard and mouse mappings in the KeyMander software:
R1 (aim-down-sight) mapped to right mouse button
R2 (fire) mapped to the left mouse button
Square (reload) mapped to forward mouse button
Triangle (weapon swap) mapped to back mouse button
R3 (melee) mapped to mouse click wheel button

The attached KeyMander profile is set up as above and works as a good starting point so you can see how the button assignment in PS4 works with the KeyMander key mappings.

After figuring this out, I've ran into a huge problem. I can't use my headset without using the xbox one controller but I can't have the controller turned on or I can't play. What should I do

I'm sorry I completely missed the part that you were on Xbox One!

Ok, so here's how I got the PS3 Nav controller working with KeyMander on Xbox One with audio:
    1. You need to use a PC connected to KeyMander as you will be using the KeyMander in Play Mode.
    2. Connect your keyboard and mouse to the PC.
    3. Connect the mini-USB cable between the PC port on KeyMander and the PC.
    4. Connect the mini-USB cable between the Game port on the KeyMander and the Xbox One.
    5. Connect your primary Xbox One controller to the KeyMander.
    6. Start the KeyMander software on the PC and click Play Mode in the upper right hand corner of the computer screen. (Make sure you already have your chosen profile uploaded into KeyMander!)
    7. Sign into your game.
    8. Connect the PS3 Nav controller to the Mouse port on the KeyMander (not the keyboard port!).
    9. The PS3 Nav controller will now function as the keyboard and D-pad buttons, but you will lose audio from the XB1 primary controller.
    10. Now connect a second Xbox One controller (with audio port) to the Xbox One using a micro-USB cable. DO NOT SIGN IN to your same account on that controller!
    11. Connect your headset to the second Xbox One controller and you will have audio.
    12. The keyboard still functions as well.

Now some caveats- If the game you are playing does not allow you to change the button mapping, you can do so in the Xbox One Device menu but you cannot change the left and right trigger mapping. I tested this on Doom, and to make it playable I had change the controller layout to Strafe in the Doom settings menu, so I could make it playable with the jump button mapped to L1 on the PS3 Nav controller. I then mapped the Y, X, RB and LC buttons to the mouse so everything works. Doom is actually really fun this way with the PS3 Nav controller!

Will a logitech extreme 3d pro work? I have an xbox one and wanna use a joystick to play farm simulator

We haven't specifically tested it, but we are compatible with nearly all the joystick models we've tried. You just have to set it up as a joystick instead of a mouse in the user interface software.

I have an Xbox One X and would like to purchase a second WIRED (cheap) controller to permanently attach to the KeyMander for game play. This way I can use the included wireless controller for other functions such as Netflix, Hulu, etc. My primary reason is so I don't need to keep moving a single controller back and forth. This is set up in my living room so everything needs to be wireless from the couch to the TV. Will this work, or do you have another suggestion?

We haven't found a non-original XB1 controller that works correctly with KeyMander. I would suggest getting a used one on eBay or something if you want a cheap one to do this.

I’ve managed to get the Logitech extreme 3D pro joystick to work with the keymander on Xbox one. However it is only registering as the left Xbox stick. I’ve tried to get it to work as the right stick but no luck. Does anyone have any advice on how to get the joystick to work as the right stick?

The current KeyMander firmware interchanges the mouse and joystick function and does allow some joysticks to function for movement but has a severe limitation with buttons. We do not have a Logi 3D pro joystick for testing right now, so I don't have much information to offer at this time.

Is there any chance that you will be testing a Logitech extreme 3D pro joystick in the future ?

    Hi Tarkawildotter,
We have been out of the office all last week for the Consumer Electronics Show so I'm sorry for the late reply. We are working on a large updated firmware build right now so I don't think we will be getting to the 3D joystick for a little while. I will order one so we can study the control protocol, but these kinds of updates take awhile.

Wanted to check with you and see if the splitfish FragFx FragChuck would work with the Keymander 2
  • Moderator [Derek]

We have not tested it, but because it shares analog and digital controls I don't expect it will work with KeyMander. I think it may possibly work with our new KeyMander 2 because our controller binding works differently, but I'll have to order one and test it before I can say.

What are the current joystick capabilities for the keymander 2 on Xbox one?

The first joysticks coming are these which are currently in process:
    Hori Fighting Stick Mini 4
    Hori RAP4 KAI
    Razer Panthera EVO for PS4

It also works with the Razer Tartarus V2 joystick/keyboard

We would prefer to support KeyMander 2 questions in the KeyMander 2 forum so that we don't confuse people here. To quickly answer your question, we don't support the PS3 Navi controller yet. It is something I am hoping to add but there are some other current model controllers on the list ahead of it for now.

Yeah sorry this is just where the k2 app defaults to. It would be easier if it took us to the keymander 2 forum as it may be a little confusing to some users when they click FAQ in the K2 app and are brought to this forum. For us to even get to the correct forum we have to go to the keymander 2 site and then select forum when it seems like the app for the keymander 2 should take us there rather than bringing us here to the wrong forum. There is literally no way for us to get to the correct forum from within the k2 app which seems to be the problem

There's a K2 App update coming tomorrow I think that does update this among other issues. Originally the KeyMander forum should have had a popup to let you choose K1 or K2 but I'm guessing our webmaster didn't make the popup work right for your mobile browser. Anyway, it should be fixed as I just tested the new app and it went to the proper forum FAQ now.
