Hi Cedric, what console are you on?
Can you navigate the console's home screen using the up, down, left and right arrows on the keyboard?

It would just buzz and stay off. Fortunately I was able to get it all to work I tried changing the cables I was using and switching the USB port I plugged the keymander into on the Xbox 1. I figured out one of my Xbox 1 USB ports does not work.tahoevalkyrie

The side port on my old xbone will still turn on a controller through a direct connection, but not through the keymander. Thanks to this excellent post, I swapped to a rear port and BAM ready to rock.

THIS... I just had the same issue suddenly come up today.. WOW.. so glad I found this post.

I was having a problem where I plugged my key mander in and the controller turned on, but it identified as not connected and I could not use my controller nor my keyboard and mouse. My fix was simply just switching the USB port that I plugged my key mander into and now it works fine.

What version Xbox One is it? Lets test the controller. To test the cable shutoff the controller then reconnect it to the keymander ( make sure xbox is on ). If the controller turns on and stays on then it is a good connection and it should work. If it buzzes and turns off then it is a bad connection.

If it does not turn on, shut off the Xbox, disconnect the power cord, then reconnect and power up by pressing the button on the Xbox.

Is it a grey cable? Did you disconnect the power cord from the xbox as well? |

If you have another controller we can try lets do that.

i have the grey cable that came with the keymander and when i plugged the grey cable to my xbox without the keymander my controller buzzes and turns on but when i tried it with my keymander my controller would just buzz and stay off. Do you think it could be the power cable or the keymander ?

Yes that was the next cable I was going to suggest to swap. Can you use the cable you normally use for your PC to connect to the GAME port of the Keymander.

If it works send me a DM and I will get another cable sent out to you!

Are you plugged into the USB on the back of the console or on the front?

Move to the back USB ports as the front ports have less current available to run the peripherals, and we have seen lots of issues caused by it!

If you pick up the controller while connected to KeyMander does it still controll the console?
Did you make any changes or install any updates to your Xbox One right before the controller stopped working with the KeyMander?

Ok so both my keyboard and mouse are in the list of confirmed MnK that work and it worked for a good 5 hours, then I went to change the key binds and now the chord that used to let my controller turn on just makes it buzz and I get no response at all from my keyboard and mouse and all the controller does is buzz I need help ASAP

It sounds like your controller is in Bluetooth mode. If you have finished troubleshooting using the 3-ended cable included in the KeyMander package as noted here and the keyboard and mouse still do not respond, check the controller’s USB connection as described below.

Check the USB connection to controller by opening the Xbox menu, going to System>Settings>Devices & Streaming>Accessories. When the Xbox controller is displayed on the screen, select the three dots below the Configure box. Select the Firmware Update even if “No update available” is displayed. Select Continue. If you see a message saying to insert batteries or connect a USB cable after pressing continue and it will not attempt to update, the controller is connected to Xbox One in Bluetooth mode and you will need to follow the steps below to switch it to USB communication.

To Force the Xbox One to USB communication:
    Disconnect the controller from KeyMander.
Disconnect KeyMander from the Xbox One console.
Disconnect the external power cable from KeyMander (if attached).
Press and hold Xbox power button on console for 10 seconds until the console shuts down.
Unplug the power cable from the console for 1 minute.
Reconnect power cable to the console and turn on using the power button on the console. DO NOT press the power button on a controller!
When green Xbox screen comes on during boot up, connect the controller directly to the Xbox One console using the micro USB cable. The controller should light up by itself indicating it is in USB mode.
Reconnect KeyMander cable to the rear USB port on Xbox One console.
Reconnect external power cable to KeyMander power port (if needed).
Disconnect the controller micro USB cable from Xbox One and reconnect to KeyMander. The controller should light up by itself indicating it is in USB mode.
