Deadzones are small areas around the controller’s thumbsticks that are programmed not respond to movements of the stick, so that worn worn out controllers will not cause on-screen movement when just sitting still. This can have a significant negative affect on mouse performance, so it is important to adjust the Deadzone settings. The attached documents explain how to adjust the Deadzone with or without a PC.

    Quick question..

Is the idea to adjust it so that the cross-hairs JUST starts to move? Like one click the other way makes it stop?

My setup is as follows. I walk up to a wall or something with lines on it. I adjust the deadzone all the way in. I move it out very slowly until the cross-hairs on screen just start to move (albeit insanely slow.)

You will want to adjust the deadzone to where it just stops. Do as you are currently doing, but click it just once more until it stops. This is the optimal zone.

In some games in can help to "cheat" the deadzone a bit if the game has a very slow aim/look speed. This means finding the deadzone stopping point, then tapping the zone smaller with a few or more mouse clicks. This is not the normal method, but for games with low Aim/look speeds like GTA V, it can help.

If I take the circles all to the center, my screen doesn’t move, isn’t this better than a larger deadzone? It seems like the instructions say to make the dead zone circle bigger

The instructions for the deadzone say to make it bigger because most games that is what you will need to do. But some games you will need to lower or make the circle smaller because their deadzone area is already big.

Thank you, that helps, even before I was able to make settings that feel great with nearly no acceleration and no lag. Paladins I was unable to make a good setting for,but cod works great

    What game are you playing?
Jittery movements can be caused by various things, some information needed would be what the MAX DPI on your mouse is and if you have it set to MAX.

Also make sure to set the keymander software to the same DPI as your mouse.

    Hello !

First lets make sure you have your mouse set to its Max DPI and make sure you match that in the keymander software. Now does it feel like a lag or as if it was jumping pixels/jittery?

In R6S we usually keep our deadzone the smallest possible.

I just want to ask you guys: If in PUBG (in-game settings) I turned off the deadzone, How do I need to set the configuration in my KeyMander?

    Hi Nicotwm,
I answered this in your other post. Basically I do not recommend turning the deadzone off in-game, but instead turning it down and testing with one of the sample profiles to get you started.

So im completly lost cause the cord i was using it was running fine then my mouse stopped working correctly ( when i would look one way and stop it would keep going for ever unless i was moving with wasd) amd now after turning everything off and back on neither the keyboard or mouse are responsive. Ive tried with the keyboard and mouse hooked up to the laptop anf then to the keymander and no response.

What lights do you see on the keymander? Try reloading the firmware on to the keymander via the software. Just preform the normal firmware upgrade process.

I love keymander. However, like most I'm having the jittery mouse issue. Ive got the kaliber gaming mouse and keyboard from the bundle. My DPI is set at 2000. Ive edited all my ingame settings for bf5 on ps4 per your awesome profile. Is there a way you can send me a screenshot of the desire sensitivity settings for keymander? Do I need a better mouse? anything would be helpful as I feel im so close to having everything working!

The GKM602R mouse that you have has a good sensor, but for most games a mouse 4000-5000 DPI mouse is what we recommend. Do you have another mouse we can try?

Yea I’ve ordered Gyswshh w200 6000dpi. I’m just dying for someone to post a bf5 profile that fixes my mouse issues as I’m overwhelmed with all the technical settings offered I must say. Keymander is the coolest thing ever if only I can get it to work properly. I’m currently using my old crap mouse and playing but definitely with problems and it’s so frustrating to be so close !
    Marco you’re a hero.

is the right dead zone the same for everyone or does it depend?
  • Moderator [Derek]

It's the same for everyone to start, but different for each game and potentially different for older controllers that suffer from drift problems. I have had to increase deadzone when using one of my older controllers at home because the stick was loosened up so badly. Even one of our newer controllers had a sticky spot that would drift sometimes when you set it down, and I would have to tap the stick to get it to stop so I could keep using a smaller deadzone.
