So when editing the dead zone, should we increase it to the point were the gun starts to move in the direction that we are editing the dead zone ? or should we put it to the highest it can go to were it doesn't move, or should we set it to were it moves but it moves slowly, or move it to were it starts to move fast ???

The correct deadzone setting would be when the crosshairs are moving slowy in the direction your adjusting (diagonal, horizontal, vertical). Depending on the game mechanics sometimes opening up the circle bigger (crosshairs mover quicker) will be better so you can adjust that as well.

While this is generally true, you really need to fine tune the dead zone for your style of play. For example, RS6 needs a smaller dead zone than normal to get the most responsive/fastest mouse feel, at the expense of some micro movement accuracy.

Just make sure you give alternate dead zone settings a try if you have trouble balancing speed vs accuracy.
