All KeyMander units shipped in 2018 have the new combination USB/micro USB cable in the box. This cable (pictured below) has a mini USB connector on one end and a USB connector with additional micro USB pigtail at the other end.

Normally this cable is used to connect between KeyMander's PC port and your PC or between your KeyMander and Android device when with the upcoming KeyMander Android app. However, this cable can also be used to troubleshoot controller cable problems. In the event your system is not working with your own micro USB cable during initial setup, you can use this cable as shown below to connect between the KeyMander's Game port and your console's controller.

If the system works normally after performing this test, your micro USB cable is either out of spec or defective and will need replacement. If the system is still not working normally after performing this test, the cable is not the source of the problem.

Hi...i have one simple solution you can use your original mobile device USB cable, plug it in the bottom port, but remember to remove the short cable on the left side first.

If the USB cable is charge and sync then you are correct it should work!

My Xbox controller won’t even turn on in the adapter, the only thing that will turn on is my mouse and keyboard. Yes I followed all the steps and none of it is working. I used 2 sync and charge cables and none work in the adapter even the one that came with the box don’t work. When I use the cables they work without the adapter

If you have finished troubleshooting using the 3-ended cable included in the KeyMander package as noted in this thread and the keyboard and mouse still do not respond, check the controller’s USB connection as described below.

Check the USB connection to controller by opening the Xbox menu, going to System>Settings>Devices & Streaming>Accessories. When the Xbox controller is displayed on the screen, select the three dots below the Configure box. Select the Firmware Update even if “No update available” is displayed. Select Continue. If you see a message saying to insert batteries or connect a USB cable after pressing continue and it will not attempt to update, the controller is connected to Xbox One in Bluetooth mode and you will need to follow the steps below to switch it to USB communication.

To Force the Xbox One to USB communication:
    • Disconnect the controller from KeyMander.
    • Disconnect KeyMander from the Xbox One console.
    • Disconnect the external power cable from KeyMander (if attached).
    • Press and hold Xbox power button on console for 10 seconds until the console shuts down.
    • Unplug the power cable from the console for 1 minute.
    • Reconnect power cable to the console and turn on using the power button on the console. DO NOT press the power button on a controller!
    • When green Xbox screen comes on during boot up, connect the controller directly to the Xbox One console using the micro USB cable. The controller should light up by itself indicating it is in USB mode.
    • Reconnect KeyMander cable to the rear USB port on Xbox One console.
    • Reconnect external power cable to KeyMander power port (if needed).
    • Disconnect the controller micro USB cable from Xbox One and reconnect to KeyMander. The controller should light up by itself indicating it is in USB mode.
  • cmd

Is your KeyMander connected to the PC? If not, the Setting LED will not light up. If the KeyMander is connected to the PC but your get a spinning screen on the KeyMander software startup screen, the PC is not seeing the KeyMander connected. In this case, you need to have either both mini USB cables connected to the PC and one cable connected to the KeyMander PC port with the other connected to the KeyMander Power port, OR you need to have one mini USB connected between the PC and the KeyMander PC port and the other connected between the KeyMander's Game port and the game console with the console powered on. Then the KeyMander will have both power and a data connection to the PC.

No I don’t have a pc nor do I have it connected to a pc. Is there any way I can get it to work in game without a pc? The keyboard only work in the Xbox home menu. And another thing is when I plug my controller in my keyboard and mouse lose light like it starts flashing the mouse does and then the keyboard don’t work.

Normally I would have you watch the setup video which covers this, but if you don't have a PC you will not be able to set it up and download profiles. I have a different solution for you, so please check your messages here.
